Matt Tunstall, owner of wine and cocktail bar Stems & Skins in North Charleston, South Carolina, penned an op-ed in The Post & Courier, praising Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC), for his recent letter to the U.S. Department of Justice, inquiring about its review of the ASCAP and BMI consent decrees. In the op-ed, Tunstall warns that without the decrees in place, businesses’ operational expenses could balloon, resulting in higher prices being passed down to consumers while having to cut back on hosting live acts, leaving fewer opportunities for up-and-coming artists to be seen and heard.
